Why doesn't the annual data for company X match their annual report?

The explanation may be that Thomson Reuters re-state full-year financials if there has been an acquisition or disposal and a more up to date "continuing operations" figure is available.

For example, in this case of Chemring, it disposed its Marine Business to Drew Marine for £32 million on 6 June 2012.

As a result, the numbers we show for 2011 reconcile back to the audited 2011 column in the more recent mid-year statement (06/19/2012) here, rather than the earlier 2011 annual report, which has been rendered out of date by the disposal.

We will only do this if a fully audited figure for continuing operations is available from the company.
